The is an original three-page statement by Eugene A. Casaroll, President of Dual-Motors Corporation, explaining the philosophy, design, craftsmanship, and business strategy behind the Dual-Ghia automobile.
Casaroll describes his vision of combining Italian styling and hand-built coachwork by Carrozzeria Ghia with American engineering and Dodge mechanical reliability. He discusses limited production, pricing, factory-direct sales, and the decision to avoid annual model changes. The document also provides valuable production figures, including approximately 12 bodies received monthly from Italy and 10 completed automobiles assembled in Detroit.
This original four-page promotional document, issued by Dual-Motors Corporation of Detroit, Michigan, introduces the Dual-Ghia as an exclusive four-passenger touring sports car. It describes the automobile’s public debut at the International Automobile Show in New York, its styling inspired by the Dodge Firearrow, and its combination of Italian coachwork with Dodge engineering.
The document details Ghia’s hand-finished paintwork and leather interiors, convertible-top construction, chassis modifications, available Dodge V-8 engines, performance claims, standard equipment, and service arrangements. It also records the substantial hand labor involved in building and assembling each automobile.
These factory promotional pages illustrate the Dual-Ghia four-passenger convertible. The materials showcase the automobile’s Italian styling, four-passenger accommodations, handcrafted coachwork, distinctive design features, and final assembly in Detroit.
The collection is preserved in a presentation folder The Answer featuring the Dual-Ghia and Ghia emblems. Printed on the reverse of the folder is a personalized inscription stating that a custom-built Dual-Ghia was made especially for Mrs. Eugene A. Casaroll, wife of Dual-Motors Corporation founder and president Eugene A. Casaroll. The inscription uses the same style of wording found on personalized Dual-Ghia dashboard plaques.
The promotional pages themselves were not exclusive to Mrs. Casaroll; other sets and individual sheets survive. The historical significance of this example lies in its personalized presentation folder and its preservation among the original documents accompanying Dual-Ghia #166.
